It's been a little over a week since i've been back from Barbados, the feeling of love has yet to dissipate.
Hosted by "Munaluchi Bride", one of the premiere magazines and blogs dedicated to multicultural brides, this retreat was a week to remember. Tears, laughter, education, entertainment and oh the food! All in the calm heat of heart-stirring Barbados.
From day 1, planners, designers and other event professionals gathered together to be treated as VIP guests, greeted with gorgeous bags filled with goodies that were reminiscent of the island and provided a peek into what was to come.
It was an educational experience, each day the conference room was filled with inspirational speakers such as planners Mindy Weiss, André Wells, Candice Coppola, business strategist Heather Crabtree and owner of "Red Bliss Designs", Christine Traulich to name a few. Each speaker gave guests inspiration, real-world advice and even step-by-step instructions on enriching their businesses or for novice planners, how to get moving!
As the week went on, we were showered with exquisite food, beautiful networking parties and culminated the week with an out of this world awards gala beautified by ellyB Events, where professionals who had made the most strides parts of the wedding industry were recognized for their contribution, imaginations and design detail.
The networking connections were priceless, nuggets of knowledge invigorating, speakers uplifting...it would be impossible to fit every thought into this post!
For this being the first conference, I must say it won't be the last.
I'll be back for New Orleans in 2016.
For Coterie or non-coterie members, this annual conference is perfect for novice - experienced wedding industry professionals who are seeking to learn from the greats on how to build their business and/or become motivated to take the plunge.
It was worth every penny.
Here's a recap of the retreat, its beauty and unforgettable Barbados:
